Job Title: Community Living Support Worker CLSW (CLBC Community Inclusion North-end)
Reports To: Community Living Contracts Manager
Position Type: 0.25 FTE, Permanent Part-Time
Position Hours: 10 hours per week Monday – Friday, schedule can vary according to client needs
Level/Salary Range: $25.95 – 29.76/hour (JJEP Wage Grid Level 10)

Job summary:
You will be respectfully and creatively supporting adults with developmental disabilities in developing skills needed to be active and included in the community. Services will be offered in a manner respectful of the cognitive abilities and goals of the individuals. A person-centered approach to planning activities will be a cornerstone in your work with individuals. As a member of our support worker team, you will be enhancing and supporting the quality of life for individuals by providing the opportunity for full involvement in their community.

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Minimum Grade 12 or G.E.D. equivalent. Social service worker courses/education and/or experience would be an asset.
• Required to complete certification in Standard First Aid (2-day course or online course) with a CPR-C component.
• Food-Safe Certification.
• Class 5 Drivers License (plus reliable vehicle, Drivers abstract) This position requires the successful applicant to use their own vehicle in the course of their duties.
• Completion of Violence Prevention/De-escalation course (online, offered by HGSCP as on-the job training)
• This position is dependent on a Criminal Records Check.
• Two doses of COVID-19 vaccination are required as per current Public Health Order
• This position requires Union Membership with BCGEU General Services
• Satisfactory Criminal Records Check for Vulnerable Sector.
• Ability to be kind, compassionate and supportive with clients.
• Ability to adhere to policies while allowing clients their autonomy.
• Able to deal appropriately with and use de-escalation skills with clients.
• Excellent interpersonal skills. Good organizational, time and general management skills
• Ability to use computers and databases effectively and learn new software skills quickly.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

You will also participate in the general daily operation and upkeep of the CLBC staffed residence. While working in close cooperation with the CLBC Community Support Worker team, you will be enhancing and supporting the quality of life for individuals by providing opportunities for full involvement in their community, in a manner respectful of the intelligence and independence already attained by the supported residents.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
