The Pseudos will be doing a big BC tour in June through all of BC including Vancouver Island. David Archer “I’m creating a sound installation that will be presented in the art gallery at Saahlinda Naay Haida Gwaii Museum alongside an art show by visual artist Benedicte Hansen. The concept for my side of the project is music for piano and biosphere. To make the piece, I’m composing original piano music and weaving it together with field recordings I’ve gathered from around Haida Gwaii. Visitors to the museum will be able to hear my recorded piece as part of the art show starting this September.”

The Minstrel Cramps who delighted us as the featured band for the last Haida Gwaii Coffeehouse of the season at the end of March will be releasing their debut album Teeth at the end of June. Release party tickets and album presales will be announced on their Facebook/theminstrelcramps.

Edge of the World Music Festival will be taking place in Tll.aal Tlell August 11-13. Planning is well underway but organizers are still looking for people to sign up on their website to volunteer and check their Facebook page for updates on meetings and coordinator positions that may still be available. “We encourage local artists to apply, local facilitators to offer up some workshops as well as vendors,” says Pete Moore.
